I just received a letter saying I did not receive credit for the course I took?
If you happen to have paid within 2 weeks of taking the our course VDPOR may not have recorded the info. The date you completed is the date that will be recorded. The letter is usually computer generated at the time you update your license. You may check the website at: http://www.dpor.virginia.gov/LicenseLookup/ to see if your license has been renewed it may take up to 10 business days for VDPOR to update their records.
What if I have two or more tradesman licenses?
You would need to take the appropriate course for each trade. We offer an HVAC code update course, A Plumber code update course, an Electrical code update course and even the one hour Fuel/Gas code update course. You may take one or any combination at your own leisure. Sign up for two or more course and take advantage of the automatic discount of 5% for two or more classes. We also have combo classes already discounted. We understand how busy life gets. We take care of all the reporting for you. Though we are not affiliated with the State the State has approved our online classes for the educational requirements. We report all classes taken every Monday morning for the past week. If your license has just expired than you have a 30 day grace period to complete your course if after the 30 days the State may require additional fees for your renewal. The day of completion is the day that is recorded. Please note in may take 2 to 3 weeks for the state to update the rosters. Do I need to purchase any books for the course?
No it is not required though it would be good to have the 2008 or the 2011 NEC code book, a 2012 International Mechanical code book, 2012 International Fuel Gas code book, or a 2012 International Plumbing code book.( depending on the course you are taking) on hand for reference.
My License is or has already expired can I still get the credit for the course?

What if I cannot pass the test?
Don't panic Surging Forward is here to help, you may take the test as many times as needed to pass. Simply contact us to reset your test. If you any problems or issues you can contact by email at Support@surgingforward.com we will assist you in the areas you may be weak in.

Do I have to complete the whole course at one time?
No you may stop at any point and pick up where you left off. Simply login with your email address and your password. Make sure you write your password in a safe place. The Sign up/login is https://surgingforward.digitalchalk.com/dc/guest/login.
Do I have to take a test?
VDPOR Requires all online courses all licensees must pass a test upon completion before credit can be given. A 70% min is required to pass. You may take the test as many times as needed to pass.

Simply click on the course you wish to take. You will be directed to a secure site. The Sign up/login is https://surgingforward.digitalchalk.com/dc/guest/login. At this point you will be required to register your information that will be needed to report your CEU's to the State. You will then be logged on where you can select you course and pay with all major credit cards or with paypal if you prefer. Its that simple.
How Long will the course take?
VDPOR Requires that the course be a minimum of 3 hours long for Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing courses. 1 Hour required for Fuel/Gas Courses. The course is set up to advance automatically so that the required hours are completed. You may always rewind but you cannot move forward past you farthest completed point.
